Minutes of PTA Meeting 14th January 2020

2. Minutes of previous meeting. (12th November 2019)
Minutes to be added to the PTA blog as soon as possible after the meetings.
Mrs Harries looking into where the defibrillator can be situated and any training that can be provided.
3. Finance Update
£1500 from Co-op has been paid in to the HSBC account as this was the bank account stated on the application for funding.
The committee agreed to fund the expenses for setting up the new ELSA room “Y Ddolyn” with £1000.
Once the money has been transferred to the new Lloyd’s account the Committee have agreed to close the outstanding HSBC accounts. Charity commission to be sent three statements to prove the HSBC account is inactive. Details of the new Committee Names to be sent to the charity commission to swap chairperson names over.
4. Christmas fair and Christmas cards
Christmas Fair went well and was well attended once again. Santa’s grotto location by the hub worked well in the hub worked well. Large number of selection boxes left over from the grotto. Chocolates will be sold at future events, but it may be worth looking at numbers brought when planning next years fair.
Tombola raised a good amount of money, footballs again proving popular.
The Christmas cards designed by the children proved popular. However, there were a few issues with the orders, including missing details being returned to school. The mugs weren’t a huge success, so next year we will look at only ordering cards and gift tags. Trustmark advised after the orders were in that design in felt pen would have given a better finish to the print quality of the cards and mugs.
5. Upcoming events
Valentine disco February 6th
Early times to remain as they were popular with the nursery and reception classes. The times will be : 4.30 to 5.30 infants. 6 till 7. Children will not be allowed to use mobile phones during the disco.
- J20 drinks were popular Gemma to look at ordering more.
- Tuck, Sweets and Crisps will need to be purchased.
- Alison to order 70 Hot dog rolls. Gemma to purchase hot dogs. Tim Rose to bring Ketchup.
- DJ booked.
- Poster done.
- Face paint stocks to be checked. Stencils to sponge on design to be looked at - Kate
Infants film night
Event to be held after half term tie in with world book day.
Thursday 5th March, 5pm till 6pm. Cost of entry will be £3 per child and £5 for siblings this will entitle each attendee to a hot dog, snack and drink.
Tim Rose to set up and send out an Eventbrite invite for tickets. This will give us an idea on how many heads to cater for. Children’s book animations to be looked at possibly Zog and the Snail and the whale.
Fun Run
The next fun run will be planned for 24th April. Refreshments and further to details to be discussed in more detail at the next meeting.
6. Bike rack
A Parent has suggested that there should be a bike rack on the school site and has offered labour to construct bike rack. Prices and sizing to be looked into. The upcoming Fun run will raise funds for the materials for the bike rack.
7. 2 wish upon a star charity support
2wish charity event will be supported by the school with a non uniform day.
